I have been reading some of my old poetry, lately... thinking about finally updating my website and promoting it again. I have so much shit to put on there now though, so it's not just a matter of changing the layout anymore. Anyway, this is one of my old favrouties, from grade ten or eleven... enjoy.
Hazardous
The sugar bowl is Filled with Dead flies. Sweetness turns to Darkness, In the blink of three eyes. I cry again, Making sugar cubes From Frozen tears. A bittersweet Melody Embraces my ears. Spin, swinging, Snapped. Grin, bringing, Gifts of Melted electrical wire.
A shaken body That is my own Like a marionette dancing Before a throne. Eyes of jealousy shun my Feet As an astronaut fails To consume My sordid treat.
Shatter The flexible Soul. No better are your Cotton quills Than the heart Within this whole. The soft Purity I swallow Slips through my Brittle grasp Like a Cactus in A blender Like a neverending Fast. A rubber Stamp of Righteous duty, With ink of acid rain, Applied Internally, underestimated The decaying silk parade.
